Outreach

We believe that all people, both in our community and throughout the world, deserve to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and to see Him reflected through our words and actions. Our Outreach Ministries show God’s love to people in many different ways. Whether it is through providing home cooked meals, visiting the elderly, ministering to those who don’t yet know God, planning events that will leave a lasting impression on the youth in our community, or even through prayer and financial support of missionaries across the globe, the love of God shines through. The approach of every outreach initiative is different, but the goal is always the same: “Make More Disciples for Jesus Christ.”

missions

We’re committed to supporting international missions through giving financially, praying and serving. As a church, we also currently support a variety of local mission groups that include unplanned pregnancy organizations, local food banks and an outreach for local school children. New opportunities to get involved are happening all the time!

Jail Ministry

Our mission is to share the love of Jesus and plant seeds through Bible study, prayer, and worship.
Remember those in prison as if you were there yourself. Remember those who are mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies (Hebrews 13:3)

Nursing Home Ministry

We have the privilege of visiting the Sheridan Healthcare Nursing Home to share the love of Jesus to those in our community who can no longer reside on their own. They are people who have contributed to our community in so many positive and amazing ways in years past and we are very blessed to show them our appreciation. Every month the residents who have birthdays are celebrated with cookies, punch and small gifts. Those participating in our nursing home ministry also spend time engaging and encouraging the residents through conversation, relationship building and sharing the good news of Jesus.

Giving Hearts Food Ministry

When someone is going through a tough time, one of the simplest ways to bless them is by providing them with a delicious home cooked meal. The Giving Hearts Food Ministry participants get together in the Six Points kitchen once a month to cook, package and preserve meals. They are readily available for our community of church attendees, friends, shut-ins, those who are ill, hospital released or any situation where a delivered meal might provide relief. Sometimes it is difficult for us to recognize every need. If you could use some help, or know of someone else who would be blessed by receiving a meal, please let us know by contacting our Outreach Director at outreach@sixpointschurch.com.

Knots With Love

Jeremiah 1:5 tells us, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” One of the ways Six Points Church shows God’s love to the very youngest in our community is by donating needed items such as diapers, wipes, baby clothing, toys, books and especially blankets to our local Life Centers. Participants in Knots with Love make and donate no-sew fleece tie blankets. Each blanket is made with the prayer that the parent who receives the blanket will feel the love that went into making it. Every child, even the preborn, has such value, worth and beauty in the eyes of God.

2nd Thursday Community Luncheon

This is an opportunity to reach our community through fellowship and food. Every 2nd Thursday from May through October, we host a pitch-in lunch that makes it possible for our community to stop in for some home cooked food. Can’t Stay? Then we offer carry-out meals so you may return to work in a timely manner while enjoying some great food!
